Zoë Ford - Founder of Ford Learning

Hi, I'm Zoë

Founder of Ford Learning… your guide, teacher, and mentor for learning English.

Over the last decade, I’ve helped thousands of students to realise their unique dreams, achieve their learning goals, and boost their confidence in their professional life. I am CELTA qualified and an ex-Director of Studies at a respected private language school in London.

Why Ford Learning Exists

I founded Ford Learning because every student is unique, with individual needs and goals. No single approach is the right one for every individual.

We expect students to learn, but we rarely teach them how. I want to change this.

By showing you the techniques and methods that can transform how you approach your learning, you can achieve the best results in a way that suits you.

After ten years of teaching in a traditional language school, I know that one-size definitely does not fit all.

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid”.

My Vision

Unique

To create a world where every lesson is designed to spark the potential within, tailored just for you.

Inspire

To bring your learning to life with vibrant materials that don’t just teach but inspire.

Empower

To guide you at every step of your journey, equipping you with the skills to take control of your learning and navigate your path with confidence

My Beliefs

sharing

The greatest gift we have is to share the knowledge and skills that we collect in life.

caring

"People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care"

Respecting

"The secret in education lies in respecting the student"

learning

“To teach is to learn twice” - I always learn something from each and every one of my students.

Where my Passion for Learning and Teaching comes from

I’ve always been naturally curious (nosy!) and I’ve always loved reading.

I have a curiosity about everything and everyone, as if driven constantly by a thirst for ever-growing knowledge. Learning fills me with energy, and teaching sparks that into life.

Being an educator is a privilege and an honour, something which I never take lightly and I am incredibly grateful to have found this path.

My Teaching Journey

Ever since I can remember, I've loved language and fittingly my educational journey took me to central London, and a journalism degree at the London College of Printing. Several  jobs later (marketing, retail management, sports coaching to name a few) and I decided to retrain to teach English to adults.

After my CELTA, I worked for 10 years at a private language school in London, becoming Director of Studies just before the Covid pandemic hit. The world that we knew changed overnight.

Ford Learning was a leap into the unknown, but one I knew was grounded in the right values and a desire to allow you, my studenst, to express your unique self in a way that helps you benefit more from life.

But enough about me… tell me about you, I’m curious… tell me everything while I put the kettle on. 🙂
